HOW IS STRUCTURAL CHIROPRACTIC DIFFERENT?

While conventional chiropractic focuses on the temporary relief of pain, Structural Chiropractic aims to correct the primary cause of dysfunction. Rather than constantly repairing damage, at AXIS Chiropractic, we focus on fixing the underlying structural abnormalities and help you reach Normal Structure.

WHO USES CHIROPRACTIC CARE?

A common misconception about chiropractic care is that only people suffering back or neck pain need it, when in fact many people can benefit from chiropractic care. Patients in our office have varied in age from their first week of life to well into their 90’s.

DOES AN ADJUSTMENT HURT?

Chiropractic adjustments generally do not cause pain. The overwhelming response we get to first adjustments is just the opposite! Most of the time our patients comment on how wonderful they feel – more energy, less pressure, decreased pain.

Our doctors are trained in a variety of chiropractic techniques to take care of everyone. If you’re nervous about an adjustment, just let us know and we’ll help you through the process safely and comfortably.

IS CHIROPRACTIC SAFE?

Absolutely. In fact, chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive measures available for health maintenance.

CAN SOMEONE WHO HAS HAD BACK SURGERY STILL SEE A CHIROPRACTOR?

Yes. A patient who has already suffered through invasive spinal surgeries not only can receive care, but are wise to seek chiropractic care. Lack of pain relief after spinal surgery is unfortunately very common, and is known as failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS).

FBSS can be frustrating, time consuming, and costly. We see plenty of patients in our office with no adverse effects. If you have further questions, please call our office at 386 – 872 – 0673.

WHAT HAPPENS ON MY FIRST VISIT?

We always start with a complimentary consultation. After completing the initial paperwork, you’ll sit down with one of our doctors for a conversation about your health goals, your concerns, and all aspects of care to make sure our practice is the right fit for you. If you choose to start care, our doctors will perform a thorough structural chiropractic evaluation to determine how we can best help you. We’ll review the findings with you, come up with an initial plan of correction, and get started.

WHEN WILL I FEEL BETTER?

The duration of injury healing depends on many factors such as type of injury, severity, age and overall health of the individual.  Our in-depth structural evaluation will determine the severity of condition and we’ll do our best to give a more accurate timeline of when your health will be restored.

CAN I FEEL MISALIGNMENTS OF THE SPINE?

Unfortunately, no. A Structural Shift in the spine can cause tension in the nervous system. Sometimes misalignments can cause symptoms like pain, stiffness, weakness, muscle spasms, etc. However, many times, these misalignments are present for years, cause decreased function without causing pain.

Less than 10% of the nerves in your entire body sense pain. So there’s still 90% of the nerves that could be affected without you even knowing it.

do i have to go forever once i start?

This is a common myth out there. Unlike many conventional chiropractic offices that aim to temporarily reduce pain, our goal is to create a long-term solution to a primary dysfunction of the spine by correcting and stabilizing it and then showing you how to keep it that way.

CHIROPRACTIC DIDN'T WORK FOR ME BEFORE, WHY SHOULD I TRY AGAIN?

Not all chiropractors are the same, and not everyone responds to the same type of chiropractic. There are over 200 named chiropractic techniques, so it’s just about finding the “right fit”.

AXIS Chiropractic uses state-of-the-art equipment to assess the specific nature of each individual case to determine the best course of correction possible. Your first visit with us allows an open discussion with our doctors to discuss your previous experiences and concerns moving forward. Come see how our office can help you!
